Selling Success: How moms are the best salespeople in the world!

If you think selling is just for people who work in sales, you’re wrong. Everyday we as individuals sell. We sell ourselves during interviews, whenever we go on dates and especially if you’re a mom. Remember, selling is more than just pitching products—selling is being able to persuade, convince, and gather support for your ideas and what you want done in life. With that said, the struggle can be real when trying to sell your little humans on what you believe is best for them.

As a mother, we have daily instances with what you might call selling your kid on something. For example, your baby boy doesn’t want to brush his teeth before bedtime, therefore you must persuade him on the idea that brushing his teeth before bed is a good thing and if he doesn’t his teeth will fall out! Just kidding, but you get the idea.

Think about all the names you know, like: Steve Jobs, Jennifer Lopez, Oprah Winfrey, Walt Disney, and Barack Obama. The only reason those are household names is because they were able to close the sale. They didn’t just persuade and fight for their ideas, they were also able to gain the support of others with money, energy, and effort. In order to be successful in life, you need to be a closer!

You must be able to close the sale in order to get what you want to in life.

When it comes to the kiddos, let’s be honest, we desire them to act in certain ways, participate in certain things, grow into adults that we can be proud of, according to whatever it is we measure as success.  Now, the idea of success for our children is different for all of us, but selling still remains as the common denominator. Even if you say, my daughter can be whatever she wants – while that may be true and maybe you don’t really care if she goes into ballet or piano, sports or computers, you still hope to close the deal on her success.
